Eternal Throne and Necropolis

Here's a compilation of Eternal Throne concepts, from early thumbnails to detail callouts. There's also a super early concept from back before the first game was even released and us concept-guys just got to sit around painting anything cool we could think of. I'd just discovered the work of Zdaislaw Beksinski and thought it would be awesome to base the look of the underworld on his paintings. I basically just straight overlaid textures from his paintings into this concept, and blatantly pinched all his cool little touches like the creepy shadowed openings, the isolated distant lights, the spectral mist and the flaming sky.
